For Educators
Science class, ready to teach.
Every Blue Dot News story is built for the classroom — one real discovery a day, written at three reading levels, with discussion questions and free permission to use it however you need.
Three reading levels, one story
Each article can be read three ways, switched with a single tap:
- Deep Dive — full depth and rigor, for advanced and older students.
- The Story — the human narrative, our default reading level.
- The Spark — the wonder, simply told, with discussion questions ready for class.
Differentiate without hunting for separate materials: the whole class can explore the same discovery, each student at the right level.
Free to use — really free
Our original articles are published under a Creative Commons (CC BY 4.0) license. You may copy, print, project, remix, and adapt them for your students at no cost — the only ask is a credit to Blue Dot News and the researchers behind the work. No ads, no paywalls, no logins for students.
Bring it into your tools
- Google Classroom — every article has a one-click Share to Google Classroom button.
- Print / PDF — each story prints as a clean handout (current reading level only).
- RSS feed — subscribe at /rss.xml to pull new stories into your reader, LMS, or classroom dashboard automatically.
Where we're headed
We are working to align stories to science standards (such as NGSS) and to share our library with open educational resource collections, so teachers everywhere can find and trust this material. If you teach and have ideas for what would help, we want to hear them.
